This could be the tightest group of all of them with four relatively strong teams. Odin’s should emerge from the group, but any of the other three teams between Rote, Forsaken Empire, and DarkSide. b team could have a shot at them. I look forward to seeing all the matches from Group E.

Review
Odin’s was a solid mid-tier team but finally broke through in AT18 after a massive feeder bracket push and continuing through the winner’s bracket going to second place. Their piloting and performance continues to improve year over year and they could be a darkhorse to win this tournament as well.
Strengths
Odin’s has banked on kite/control style compes for years, particularly before the ewar limitations on shield ships, taking typically shield based ships, slapping a little bit of buffer and then as many ewar mids as possible and carrying it to victory. They have also navigated rush and gunboat comps and metas well and are more than proficient with them. Odin’s are also one of, if not the strongest teams running logistic frigate based comps which cannot be banned in this ruleset.
Weaknesses
They aren’t as strong as the perennial tournament top teams with heavy control based setups, meaning they can run into counters where their playstyle struggles to break through.
Ban Targets
Odins loves their kitey strengths and have consistently played well with those ship ideas. They have also had success with heavy armor pressure lacking some control and tend toward the Leshak that is relatively cheap in this format.

Rote is very similar to Odin’s in terms of results but have not quite had that terrific result, coming top 6 in AT 17.
Strengths
Rote has performed the best when shield kite and rush cores are at the front of the meta. Given some of the direction of the strongest comps and the introduction of two pirate shield based battlecruisers this could be a meta for them.
Weaknesses
They again haven’t shown success running the heavier armor comps, whether it be a lack of complete coordinatino or some small misplays that snowball, they will need to work on making these cores strong.

Again take out some of the key shield core ships and try to force them into a more armor based comp.

Paid Actors/Forsaken Empire have been a solid team that has some strong comps and have some different comps to prepare against. They could cause problems for either of the top two teams in the group.

I’m giving this team a bit more credit than they may be due in the achievements attributing DarkSides full results to Fern as captain. That said, he has some long running knowledge even if the remainder of the roster may have been waiting in the wings for their shot at flying live on a team.
