Anger Games 6: Final Weekend Teams – No Vacancies

I did not expect NoVac to make it out off the group stages, particularly after dropping their first match to RamRod. But two wins later, with a final match against 7 Guys 1 Sheet put them through in the top of their group. From there, they had a strong first round showing against Rusty, before running into the wall of No Spaceships. It will be interesting to see if they can continue through some of the harder teams in the lower bracket.

Hyperion, Hyperion, Vexor Navy Issue, Sentinel, Deacon, Deacon, Pontifex
Widow, Zarmazd, Vigilant, Pontifex, Pontifex, Nergal, Nergal

What would I do?

NoVac has been relatively all over the board with a lot of their comps. Specifically running the double Curse comp with Draugur damage and the Widow+Zarm idea along with some more standard options. While banning out some of the stronger kiting support ships in the Keres and Maulus.

This is the first team I might try to push into some theory depth by attempting to get some duplicate bans. I also feel like there isn’t anything in particular I would want to ban against them, but would rather bring comps I feel comfortable with and can execute well. To that end I’d also ban out the Keres, Maulus, and Gila. For any duplicates I would add the Alligator, Widow and Draugur in that order.

Comp Options:

Sleipnir
Myrmidon Navy Issue
Naga
Phantasm
Moa
Moa
Osprey

For this team I would opt into something with big distributed damage output. First to mind is the shield gunboat comp that can handle most everything they’ve brough either from in close or from range.

Sleipnir

Another option would again be to bring the minrush that has proven so powerful in this format as I don’t expect them to have a solid counter comp option for the across the board ranged scrams.

Nighthawk
Scimitar
Cyclone
Rapier
Jackdaw

Finally, you could opt for the Odin’s style kite composition as they have yet to show anything that would truly have a strong matchup into it.
