Anger Games 6: Final Weekend Teams – No Spaceships for Old Men

The DarkSide team has been very strong this year, again having no losses so far and absolutely dominating in most of their matches. This is clearly one of the top teams remaining in the bracket.

What would I do?

DarkSide. similar to Barcode has brought many different comp options with some swaps and counter bans making it very difficult to read their plans for any given matchup. They work with both control and anti-control matchups and have found success across the board with strong execution.

For them, I would try to again play somewhat to whatever your teams strengths are, but without banning for specific comps you want to bring. I particularly think that banning the Osprey helps with some of their shield comps and would recommend not flying anything particularly rush focused. That said, so far every comp they’ve brought would struggle somewhat to full max threat with projection so that would be the way I’d be leaning in this matchup. To that end I’d ban Orthrus, Vargur, Paladin.

Comp Options:

Absolution
Brutix Navy Issue
Exequror Navy Issue
Omen Navy Issue
Confessor
Keres
Augoror

This gunboat keeps some heavy ranged dps while also holding on with Keres damps to help provide a small amount of cover to the Augoror. It needs to be played aggressively early with sights on making solid snap kills and quick swapping targets where possible or hard diving if there are only a few core DPS ships.

Leshak
Oneiros
Sentinel
Sentinel
Pontifex
Confessor
Draugur

They haven’t played heavily into the full control meta yet and could have a vulnerability to a Leshak solo style comp with some light ewar frigates if they continue their Jackdaw, Orthrus bans, though they’ve shown the capability to still bring comps that matchup very well into this form of comp.

Alligator
Alligator
Alligator
Jaguar
Maulus
Maulus
Osprey

And lastly, Florida will likely have gone unbanned. Opting for the kitey variation that has been shown a few times with drone link augmentors and extra links on the gators (and even local MJDs) may be the play expecting a possible mirror, but you’d always need to be on the lookout for their remote boosted battleship comp.
