Anger Games 6: Final Weekend Teams – New Eden Villain’s Valley

New Eden Villain’s Valley is a team that had a pretty tough group that they managed to get through and then has shown incredible capability with their main comp getting through the redemption bracket and a bit of creativity knocking off the Tuskers and then knocked off Only Need THREE Comps in a heavy armor matchup. They go against Spooky Action at a distance, the only team they’ve lost to in the tournament so far in the group stages.

What would I do?

First, lets start by looking at bans and comps. They’ve continually pushed against the Curse, Orthrus, and Khizriel removing some of the biggest threats to their armor core comps and even their CFI rush. I’d try to keep them relatively boxed in to their armor pressure comp as it’s quite beatable if they stay constrained, but would also need to keep a comp that has the opportunity to beat some of the stronger comps available. To that end I would ban out the Loki, Alligator, and Gila. These bans eliminate a random Florida man comp from being pulled out and also targets their HAM rush by removing their ranged webs. They likely feel comfortable going into their Vindicator style control comp which can easily be countered.

Going into the comp I would bring given the likely bans including Curse, Orthrus, and Khizriel, we can note that some optimal rush comps (particularly the 2x Sleipnir, 3x Broadsword) still exist as do both armor and shield gunboat variations. We’ve seen however that the Confessor is hyper tanked and able to completely stop a Loki for an entire fight so I’d be relatively hesitant to bring a raw rush. Instead, I would look at something BWAR esq that can control the armor control they like to bring while also not being particularly vulnerable to their ewar.

We get the ranged scrams out of the Barghest and one on the Keres in addition to its strong damping capabilities and lock speed to help counter hostile ewar cruisers. The Confessor can screen while providing long range anti-support capabilities. Then the Pontifex for info/armor links and remote sensor boosting, while the Draugur is running double skirmish links and providing damage and more screen as an anti-light tackle. Finally, the Rapier running triple web is able to again control any strong rush comps while having the resilience to enemy ewar.

A very strong, heavy minrush comp would also be an option as it could handle the screening from NEVV and largely handle the ewar quickly since the comps are often super light on damage.

Finally the distributed damage output gunboat comp could work quite well especially with MNI web drones being able to hold logistics or hard rush.
